In most situations, we recommend our standard hydraulic toe jacks to lift heavy loads. Our other types of toe jacks might work as well, but are designed for certain situations.
If you’re lifting in a tight space, or will only use the jacks with external pumps, then our toe jacks with external hydraulics are a good fit.
If you are lifting a forklift or need a longer toe to lift a load, then our forklift jacks are recommended. The universal jack we have operates both vertically and horizontally and serves as a 2 in 1 jack.
An external pump should be utilized with our jacks if you want to have less people involved in the lift, since it enables one person to operate multiple jacks. External pumps also allow for users to maintain a further distance from the load, increasing the safety of the lift.
We offer both a hydraulic hand pump and hydraulic electric pumps. We recommend the hand pump on our lower tonnage jacks if there is not an electric source nearby. We recommend the electric pump in most cases since it requires no manual effort and it can easily operate all of our toe jacks.
Other types of hydraulic pumps can operate our jacks if the PSI is set to 7,541 and the hoses and couplings fit properly. If you are uncertain how to match the couplers to the hydraulic fittings, we recommend taking the equipment to a hydraulics shop and they can complete the job.

It’s beneficial to do some basic troubleshooting on your toe jack, as the issue may be very simple and easily fixed by yourself, saving you both time and money. Review the product manual to diagnose the problem. If the troubleshooting guide is unable to diagnose the problem, then we recommend sending the jack back to us to repair, or taking the jack to a hydraulic repair shop.

The type of hydraulic oil that you need depends on the brand of oil that you use.

The V20 hydraulic toe jack has 2 actuators. The actuator on the left is called the ‘fast pump’ and it allows the user to quickly lift the toe of the jack to place under the load before lifting. This pump is not to be used when actually lifting the load. The actuator on the right is called the working pump and that is what should be used when actually lifting the load with the toe jack.
The feet on our toe jack swivels to enable lifting of loads that do not have any clearance from the ground—you can swivel the feet parallel to the load and get the toe of the jack extremely low to the ground.
Once the machine is lifted enough to put blocks or cribbing underneath, block the load and then point the feet of the jack towards the load again.
Do not keep the feet of the jack pointed parallel to the load for the entire lifting operation, as this might bend the toes or cause a lifting operation failure.
In short, forged steel is stronger and will bend instead of break when overloaded. Most other toe jacks are made of cast steel, a cheaper but weaker manufacturing method. Click here to get more information on the difference between forged and cast steel.
